Initial work by a committee was finalised by Dawn Murphy in the ten weeks before the opening of the show at Claremont. Dawn co-ordinated and drew together all the volunteers, displays and oversaw the setting up of the venue for the actual show.

This pictorial record consists of two parts. The first is preparation by the Historical Society of their display. It was constructed by Joe Raudino. Images show the settlers house in construction, loading and then assembly in the pavilion. A volunteers afternoon tea and the packing of 'show bags' also appear. Other parts of the first day of setting up at Claremont are also recorded.
The second set of images relate to the first Sunday of the show. They include the exhibits and crowd moving through the displays. A large, hollow tingle tree was placed as the entry point and visitors were welcomed as they entered. They then followed the 'Bibbulmun Track' around the pavilion before exiting.
The images are presented in a small version on the left of the page. This column of thumbnails can be dragged to reveal all in the set. If you would like to view a larger version of any image simply click on the smaller one.
